There are 12 palaces on the life chart. Each of the palaces represents certain aspects of a person's life.

↪️ 12 Palaces Sequence and Number

The 12 palaces follow a specific sequence and rotate counterclockwise on the Life Chart. The sequence is the same for everyone. Each palace is represented by a number, beginning with 1 (the Life Palace) and ending with 12 (the Parent Palace). The Life Palace can begin anywhere on the chart, depending on the person's lunar birth month and time of birth.

12 Palace Sequence

🌻 1. Life Palace

The Life Palace is the most important of the 12 palaces. It represents "the self" on the Life Chart. It represents you, your innate abilities, personality, and behavior.

🌻 2. Sibling Palace

The Sibling Palace represents the personality and behavior of your mother and/or eldest brother and your relationships with them.

🌻 3. Spouse Palace

The Spouse Palace represents the personality, behavior, and appearance of your partner, as well as your relationship with them. It also predicts your likelihood of early or late marriage, remaining unmarried, or facing the risk of divorce.

🌻 4. Child Palace

The Child Palace primarily symbolizes your children, specifically your eldest son, including his personality and your relationship with him. Additionally, it represents your sexual activities. If you are remarried, it also represents the personality of your second spouse.

🌻 5. Wealth Palace

The Wealth Palace represents your attitude toward money, how you earn and spend your money, and what kind of professions are suitable for you.

The Health Palace represents your health and body, including physical characteristics such as being slim or plump, as well as the health issues you may be prone to. It also reflects your inner personality and emotions.

🌻 7. Journey Palace

The Journey Palace, also known as the Exterior Palace represents how you present and express yourself to others, and how others perceive you.  It also represents your behavior, fortunes, and encounters, when you are away from home, such as when you are traveling, going on trips, going to school abroad, working in a foreign country, or just doing outdoor activities.

The Friend Palace represents the type of friends you have, your peers, and others who are not blood-related. It also reflects your relationships with them. The Friend Palace was formerly known as the "Subordinate Palace", but today it is commonly referred to as the "Friend Palace".

🌻 9. Career Palace

The Career Palace, also called the Activity Palace, represents your daily activities. The types of activities you are involved in, such as school and work activities. How well you perform at school or work.

🌻 10. Home Palace

The Home Palace represents your childhood home, living conditions, environment, and the type of home you like. In addition, it indicates whether you will own or rent your home. It also represents your saving habits. Do you have the habit of saving money?

🌻 11. Fortune Palace

The Fortune Palace represents your mentality and enjoyment, including what is on your mind and what you do for pleasure, such as your interests and hobbies. It also reflects how you spend your money and enjoy your time.

🌻 12. Parent Palace

In general, the Parent Palace represents the personality and behavior of your father and your relationship with him. The mother is represented by the Sibling Palace.

🌷13. Latter Palace

The Life Palace represents the first half of a person's life, from birth to around age 35. The Latter Palace is the 13th palace, representing the second half of life, typically from age 36 onward.

When interpreting the Life Chart, the Life Palace should always be regarded as the Self, regardless of age—even if the individual is over 35 years old. The Life Palace is considered the most important palace. Many Polaris astrologers regard the Latter Palace as insignificant and often disregard it when interpreting the Life Chart.

Note: In Chinese, the Latter Palace is referred to as the Body Palace. However, the Body Palace has nothing to do with a person's physical body. To avoid confusion, this website refers to it as the Latter Palace.

🌷The Relationship Between the Latter Palace and Other Palaces

Since there are only 12 palaces in a person's Life Chart, the location of the Latter Palace is shared with one of the 12 palaces. Because of the way the Latter Palace is formulated, the location of the Latter Palace can only be shared with the following six palaces:

  • 🌷 Latter Palace shared with the Wealth Palace:  For you, nothing is more important than making money. You are very economical and never waste money.
  • 🌷 Latter Palace shared with the Journey Palace: You love to travel and don't like to stay in one place for long. Your working environment is always changing.
  • 🌷 Latter Palace shared with the Spouse: Your energy is constantly focused on spousal matters and family life. Additionally, you may be emotionally sensitive.
  • 🌷 Latter Palace shared with the Fortune: You are constantly pursuing your hobbies and interests. You might feel emotionally distressed if your job is not aligned with your area of interest.
